HANDMADE LAPTOP SLEEVE

When I bought my 17" laptop I didn't think about the fact that it would be hard to find a nice sleeve that was fitting and still looked cute. Now I know just how hard it is. I was unable to carry my laptop around in the first few weeks because I had nothing to protect it with.My mother used to make clothes for my brother and I when we were little kids. She still has a sewing machine for the occasional rip or hole but hardly ever uses it. Until we came up with the idea that she could make me a personal handmade laptop sleeve!
We went shopping for fabric and found this classic black and white newspaper design featuring Marilyn Monroe & Audrey Hepburn which we both loved.
A couple of days later when she had a few hours spare time, she made me a super soft sleeve of which I'm very proud.

MY NEW AGENDA

Hey guys, is it just me or do you also get really excited when you hold a blank agenda in your hands? Immaculate white pages for you to fill in with meaningful meetings you are going to have and important dates you cannot forget about. My heart skipped a beat when I laid eyes on this gorgeous companion for 2014. It has a beautiful black, white and gold theme. The cover itself has a very inspirational design that's perfect for college girls like myself: Make It Happen!
I bought the Make It Happen agenda at Oonk, the Primera bookstore in my town. It's designed by the brand CANDY 100% Sugar of which I'd personally never heard before. I couldn't find any information about the brand by directly typing the name in Google's searchbox. However I did find the name of a website in tiny miny letters on the second page: stationeryteam.com
For the last three weeks I had been on the lookout for a chic looking agenda. It became really annoying having to write down appointments on post-it notes simply because my current agenda stops halfway January. There are a few things that I need in an agenda: First, the weight. The agenda needs to be lightweight because I'm going to take it with my everywhere I go, for the entire year and it shouldn't be a burden. Second, the size of the pages. This is so important. I have a small handwriting but I'm a woman of many words. I also like to add fun captions, quotes, jokes and even stickers. So I kinda demand a lot of space for every day. Third, the shape. I don't like agenda's that are very narrow because I find them too stiff and they tend to close as soon as you remove your hand. Lastly, the design. Hey, I just like to look at pretty things! What did you expect? ;-) I paid €16,95 for this agenda. I realize that's not a very cheap option. There are more affordable ones for sale that are just as cute but I know I'm gonna love this one through the entire year and won't get sick of the appearance.
Some photo's to give you an impression:
I'm really fond of stars. It symbolizes my ability to shine when I'm doing what I love.
“You might laugh because every time I sign my name I put a gold star after it, but it’s a metaphor, and metaphors are important. My gold stars a metaphor for me being a star."
- Rachel Berry
I already started using this agenda and I am so happy with my choice because it answers all my needs and it's just so precious to me. Tell me what you think of my agenda and show me which one you bought for the new year!

RASPBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE

Good day you! Hope you're well :-)

When I wake up in the morning I often don't feel like eating slices of bread. I'm just not ready for that kind of food yet! But because breakfast is an important meal that you should definitely consume I try to come up with different ideas on what to eat on those mornings. Try to vary in your breakfast choice as much as you can! This will give your body a better chance on getting all the nutrients it longs for. There are tons of different options out there. And honestly, when I start the day with something really delicious... I start that day well! Okay it's time for some vitamins.

RASPBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE
Ingredients
1 banana
handful of no sugar added frozen raspberries
200 ml of yogurt (pick one that is plantbased and low in fat)

Directions
And obviously, it is quite convenient to have a blender at home. If you don't have one you can use your stand or hand mixer. For my smoothie I used frozen raspberries because they are much cheaper than the ones that aren't frozen (and they are just as healthy.) Frozen fruits are quite hard so I advise you to not use frozen fruits unless you have a glass blender jar. The plastic ones are easily damaged. The faster you serve/drink your smoothie, the better because they don't keep well.

To me personally, this smoothie is perfectly yummmy like this. A friend of mine however, feels that yoghurt based smoothies always lean on the sourish side. If you agree with her, I'd recommend you add a tiny bit of honey to make it sweeter. Don't you start pouring sugar now! Explore with your food and have fun!
