WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS 2013

I know I'm a little late to the WhatIgotforChristmas-party, but you know what they say: better late than never!
As a kid I never truly got to love Christmas the way I do now. We used to celebrate Sinterklaas on the 5th of December which is a common thing to do in the Netherlands. And seeing that my birthday is on the 27th, it makes sense that we sortof skipped on Christmas celebrations. But over the last few years my love for Christmas has grown stronger.
In this post I want to show you the three gifts that were waiting for me. Two of them under a Christmas tree, a third one in my suitcase.

Stinna scarf in Wine Red (Pieces)
I got this gorgeous 100% acrylic scarf from my thoughtful mother-in-law whom I went shopping with a couple of weeks back. She remembered me caressing the scarf with delight without wanting to buy myself a scarf that I didn't really need. What I love most about this scarf is the fact that you can play hide and seek in it. No seriously, this scarf is huge. According to the website the Stinna scarf is 80 x 200 cm without taking the fringes into account.
The Stinna scarf is also available in the colors Chrome Grey and Sand.

Fun fact: Stinna is a Scandinavian girls name that is heard of most often in Denmark. It is derived from the name Stina which means as much as 'follower of Christ'. PIECES was founded in 2003 by the Danish clothing and accessories company Bestseller, hence the name.
The Next Best Thing written by Jennifer Weiner
This little novel was waiting for me between all the presents. By the shape and feel of it I knew what it was before I opened the packaging. When people give me reading material I always wonder what made them decide to give me a certain title. Why do people buy me novels on certain topics? My boyfriend was this novels' buyer and giver and so I had to think really hard to get an answer to the question above. The novel is about a young woman trying to make it in Hollywood. Surely ambitious, as am I.
Thick knit cardigan (H&M)
A present to myself. I found it, abandoned by it's hibernal family, on a sales rack between crop tops, where it was discounted from €49.95 to €25. Happy me! I felt like I could really use a thick long cardigan. This one from H&M L.O.G.G. has a Norwegian inspired pattern all over it. Green, beige and wine red are it's three colors. I'm completely in love with it as it goes with almost anything! Right now I'm wearing it with a creme polkadot blouse and it looks effortlessly chic!
